Always verify the actual pipe outside diameter before grooving, and confirm that the pipe wall thickness meets the minimum allowable value listed for the selected groove system. Measure the actual outside diameter of the pipe and select the matching size row in the table. Confirm the pipe wall thickness meets the minimum allowable value “T” for the groove system. Set the grooving machine rollers according to groove width “B” and diameter “C” values. Check the finished groove with a go/no-go gauge to confirm depth and diameter tolerance.
