New Product Launch | Gruv-Max Heavy-Duty Roll Grooving Machines for Pipes Up to 60" and 20 mm Wall Thickness
As pipe sizes continue to increase in industrial piping, fire protection systems, infrastructure projects, and large-scale fabrication work, conventional roll grooving machines can reach their practical limits in both pipe diameter and wall thickness.
To meet these heavier-duty applications, Gruvmaster has introduced the new Gruv-Max heavy-duty roll grooving machine series. The range currently includes two models, GX24 and GX60, covering pipe sizes up to 60 inches and wall thicknesses up to 20 mm.
Why We Developed Gruv-Max
Most conventional roll grooving machines are designed around small- to medium-diameter pipes. Once pipe sizes move beyond 24 inches, and especially into 32", 48", or 60" applications, grooving becomes more demanding.
Larger pipes require more than simply higher grooving pressure. The machine also needs sufficient drive power, structural rigidity, stable pipe support, and a transmission system capable of handling heavier loads.
The same applies to thick-wall pipe. As wall thickness increases, the machine must remain stable under higher working loads while maintaining reliable roller engagement and consistent groove formation.
Gruv-Max was developed around these two main requirements:
larger pipe diameters and thicker pipe walls.
Grooving Capacity Up to 60 Inches
Gruv-Max is currently available in two standard models:
| Model | Grooving Range | Max. Wall Thickness |
| GX24 | 8"–24" | 20 mm |
| GX60 | 8"–60" | 20 mm |
The GX24 is designed for heavy-duty grooving within the 8"–24" range.
For larger pipe fabrication, the GX60 extends the working range all the way to 60 inches, making it suitable for applications involving 32", 48", 60", and other large-diameter pipes.
To accommodate different pipe sizes, the GX60 uses an adjustable-height base. This allows the working height of the machine to be matched more closely with the pipe centerline, making it easier to support and position large pipes during grooving.
Built for Wall Thicknesses Up to 20 mm
Another key feature of Gruv-Max is its ability to groove steel pipe with wall thicknesses up to 20 mm.
For this type of work, hydraulic pressure alone is not enough. The complete machine structure has to be designed for the load.
Gruv-Max therefore combines a heavy-duty frame, high-power drive system, reinforced transmission components, and strong groove roll assemblies to provide stable performance when working with thicker pipe.
This makes the series particularly suitable for workshops and projects where large or heavy-wall pipes are processed on a regular basis.
OGS and AGS Groove Options
Different piping systems may require different groove profiles.
Gruv-Max can be configured with OGS groove roll sets or AGS groove roll sets, depending on the pipe size and application requirements.
Standard groove roll configurations are available for common pipe sizes, while groove roll sets for larger sizes from 26" to 60" can be selected according to the actual pipe diameter, wall thickness, and required groove profile.
This gives Gruv-Max more flexibility than simply increasing machine size. It provides a configurable grooving platform for a wider range of large-pipe applications.
Designed for Heavy-Duty and Repetitive Grooving Work
Gruv-Max is designed with workshop production and heavy-duty operation in mind.
The machine uses a high-power dual-motor configuration to provide stable power for its main working systems. Together with the reinforced transmission structure, this helps maintain consistent performance during continuous grooving work.
A groove-depth stop also helps control the final groove depth. Once the required setting has been made, the operator can repeat the grooving process more consistently across multiple pipes.
Different groove roll sets, pipe supports, and related accessories can also be selected according to specific project requirements.

Applications
Gruv-Max is suitable for applications such as:
· Industrial piping fabrication
· Fire protection piping systems
· Large commercial and building-service piping
· Infrastructure projects
· Pipe fabrication workshops
· Large-diameter steel pipe installation
For projects where conventional roll grooving machines are limited by pipe diameter or wall thickness, Gruv-Max provides a more heavy-duty alternative.
Gruv-Max Is Now Available
With the launch of GX24 and GX60, Gruvmaster has extended its roll grooving range up to 60 inches, with a maximum supported wall thickness of 20 mm.
From standard large-diameter pipe to heavy-wall fabrication, Gruv-Max is designed to cover applications that require greater capacity, stronger machine construction, and more flexible groove configurations.
